Our Quadruple Bottom Line
1. Provide quality, reasonably-priced products & services to our neighbors
2. Help area young people 'learn to earn'
3. Earn income to support YES programs and to restore our historic properties
4. Support other community organizations through a 5% discount & donations
Environmental Commitment
Our papers are 30%-100% recycled content. All scrap paper is recycled or used for notepaper. We used salvaged and recycled materials extensively in renovating our storefront and donate wood scraps for heating fuel. We recycle our dollars by using local suppliers and contractors and funding our programs for area youth.
About Us
YES BizCenter, a social enterprise, was launched in July 2004 by members of the Young Entrepreneurs Society (YES). Since 1998, YES has helped over 2,000 young people find and follow their own paths to prosperity through entrepreneurship, job readiness, financial and technology education, including the YES members who wrote the BizCenter's business plan and took home first prize ($2,000) in the 2002 USDA/National 4-H Council's Cooperative Business Plan competition. Their plan enabled YES to acquire a mortgage to purchase our two adjoining historic 19th-century buildings in downtown Orange, MA. Over 200 community members and businesses pitched in to help us renovate our 3 storefronts: YES BizCenter (#24), Teen Cyber Cafe/YES HQ (#26), and the Benoit 'BizCave' classroom/community room (#28) and, this year, our 3 downstairs spaces to house YES Ink, an inkjet cartridge re-manufacturing business, and PhilHarmonix, a teen music studio. Donations of time, talent and treasure help us keep these activities kicking. If you value our work, we'd appreciate your help.
